Friendly Reminder: How to avoid your Laptop being stolen?

There can be nothing worse than a laptop that has been stolen. The feelings of being a victim of a terrible crime on an item you use on a daily, if not more, basis. That's why you need to avoid the extra possibility of having your laptop stolen. Thieves are usually just waiting for the right place and right time to pick off your laptop. Here's how to keep your computer laptop safe.

Instructions:

Step 1

If you leave your laptop for a minute at the coffee shop, lock it to the table. Those nifty laptop locks will hold your computer in place while you turn your back for a second cup of coffee. If a thief tries taking your laptop, then they have to take the whole table too, which is impossible!

Step 2

Keep your laptop in a non descriptive bag when you travel. Nothing freaks me out more than taking my laptop around Los Angeles in the Dell bag I got as a free gift when I bought my computer. Labeled with Dell all over it, the only label it doesn't have is please steal me! Make sure your laptop bags doesn't have indications that it is a laptop inside.

Step 3

Your laptop needs to be noticed if it does get in the mix of the wrong company. As I always tell people, use stickers or have some sort of identity on the outside of the computer so if someone tries taking it they know they are risking being caught by others as well as the time it will take to remove all the personalization. It is a huge discouraging factor.

Nanay Dionisia steals the thunder at Pacquiao birthday party!

It was supposed to be exclusively “the” Manny Pacquiao birthday party, an event heralded all over the land, but the champion’s mother Nanay Dionisia would not let it pass by going unnoticed. And so she did what could have been unthinkable a few years back before her son became famous.

She showed off her newly-acquired skills in ballroom dancing by yes, performing the “swing” with her instructor in a much-applauded surprise number before the presence of about 2,000 well-heeled guests, including the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Nanay Dionisia, the newly crowned Dancing Queen of GenSan

Oh my God! What would Tess Oreta say?

Hmmm… what if I dance up there myself? To Cha-cha or not to cha-cha?

Nanay Dionisia’s terpsichorean skills were not the only surprise for the celebrant and his well-wishers during the Pacquiao birthday party, which has been heralded weeks in advanced by the media, with its magnitude growing by the day in its grandiosity.

There was the presence of Manny’s Kapuso family, stars from television station GMA led by Richard Gutierrez, with his parents Eddie and Annabelle Rama in tow. Then the performance of Journey “frontman” Arnel Pineda who did his own version of “Open Arms” plus two more songs.

Manny Pacquiao put the Hitman down!

Ricky Hatton's pound-for-pound dream has been wrecked inside two shocking rounds.

Manny Pacquiao put the Hitman down twice in the first before ending a one-sided contest with a chilling left hook one second from the end of the second.

It was such a bad knockout that Hatton was out before he hit the canvas and he needed treatment before finally 0 thankfully - getting to his feet.

Whether he climbs back into a boxing ring again, is doubtful.

Hatton did no interviews, had to be helped from the ring and was surely headed for hospital. And possible retirement.

When his head clears he will realise that the performance was a complete and utter disaster. He came to Vegas dreaming of being crowned the best boxer on the planet. He will leave after an absolute nightmare.

At least it was a short one. Freddie Roach's initial three-round prediction was not far off the mark in the end. Pacquiao's trainer also said it was too late for the Hitman to change his style - and that was just as accurate.

Ferocious

In six ferocious minutes of action, there was no sign of any boxing skills, no head movement, no cunning whatsover as he tried to close the gap and take Pacquiao on on the inside.

Instead it was the Hatton of old. Walking straight forward, square on and, as he did even on that fateful night when he forced Kostya Tszyu to quit, taking way too many shots.

Reports of a rift with trainer Floyd Mayweather Snr on the eve of the biggest fight of his life can't have helped. If there had been problems - and in five minutes 59 seconds Hatton did little to dispel the rumours - they were cruelly exposed by the Filipino phenomenon, who now stands alone at the top of boxing's tree.

Hatton's plan to chop him down had been based on getting in close and in the very first clinch of the fight, he did get two sneaky shots in on the inside. But Pac Man hadn't even begun to fight.

A few seconds later and he was in the swing, catching his man with a right and even when he was pinned on the ropes, he slipped out untroubled.

Knowing his speed would keep him clear of any one-dimensional danger, he was then able to stand his ground in the face of thoughtless attacks and let his own fists fly.

Stunned

A left-right-left combination soon had Hatton cowering, then a huge right hook, signalled the beginning of the end.

Down Hatton went, stunned, but got back to his feet at eight. It was no flash knockdown, no lucky counter, no fluke. It was speed, timing, power; everything a boxer craves, everthing Hatton had promised - and it was to be repeated.

The next time he stuttered forward, a straight left repeated the punishment and had the Hitman on his back again with 55 seconds of the first round still remaining.

Juan Manuel Marquez might have survived three first-round knockdowns against Pacquiao five years ago, but even though Hatton got up again and held on for the ball, this was so patently different. Pacquiao had, as promised brought plenty power up to 140lbs to match his pace.

Hatton did at least catch his man at the start of the second, but still he was hunting in straight lines, not using, never mind moving his head. Soon enough another left landed and sent his head rocking back, while Pac Man let loose three or four-punch combinations and stepped out of range as Hatton lunged forward.

It was all too familiar and although he managed to mess Pac Man up for the next chunk, Bayless warned him for a low blow and roughing on the inside as desperation took over far sooner than anyone had dared fear.

Horrendously

How he made it to within a whisker of the end of the session perhaps only Pacquiao can answer, but just as the seconds were getting ready, the Hatton dream was ruined. Absolutely, unequivocally and, as fiancee Jennifer's piercing ringside scream will testify, horrendously.

This time he didn't even walk onto the shot. Almost casually, Pac Man prodded out half a jab before unleashing a lightning fast left hook flush to the chin. Hatton toppled to his left, smacked the canvas hard and did not even need a count.

He did need extensive treatment and he will now need a serious assessment of just where to go next.

Pacquiao, in contrast, can look forward to the winner of Floyd Mayweather Jnr and Marquez later this year.

On this chlling evidence, he can do so with supreme confidence. Boxing has a new pound-for-pound king. And sadly, he was a class above the same old Ricky Hatton.

Can you see it???????????????

Why Do I do This?

Why do I study all hours of the night?
Why do I put up such a fight?
I do it because one day I will celebrate new baby born.
And, one day help a family mourn.
It makes me have courage and determination.
It teaches me how to handle my dissatisfaction.

Some people will curse or bless you.
But every day they will teach you something new.
That is why I study all nght.
And, why I put us such a fight.
Because one day, a Nurse I will be.
To help people like you and me.

Nurses: Hearts of Gold

There are times in our lives when we sit down and wonder where our lives will lead us.
Sometimes we get so caught up in our jobs that we forget what we truly represent.
We get frustrated, aggravated, pushed to the limits and so mentally tired that we feel what is the use in being a Nurse.
But then someone gives us a weak smile or holds our hand and may say "thank you, you are so special."
The we feel the warmth growing in our hearts.
All the bad feelings disappear and replaced by the core values that we present:
human dignity, compassion, dedication, integrity, stewardship, leadership and excellence.
So when the bad feelins begin to show take the times to say this prayer:
Lord, help me to bring comfort where there is pain.
Courage where there is despair.
Acceptance when the end is near.
A touch gentle with tenderness, patience, and love.
And, always remember, all Nurses are truly blessed.
For you see --- God gave of Hearts of Gold.

The Green Field

The earth was green, the sky was blue:
I saw and heard one sunny morn
A skylark hang betweent he two,
A singing speck above the corn;
A stage below, in gay accord,
White butterflies danced on the wing,
And still the singing skylark soared,
And silent sank and soared to sing.

The cornfield stretched a tender green
To right and left beside my walks;
I knew he had a nest unseen
Somewhere among the million stalks.

And as I paused to hear his song
While swift the sunny moments slid,
Perhaps his mate sat listening long,
And listened longer than I did.

My Two Sister

Having a sister in your life can either be a wonderful or terrible experience, depending on your relationship. If you have an older sister and you are a girl, she can often show you how to navigate the way through some of the more difficult areas of growing up. This is also true is you are a boy. Your older sister can help explain to you how to interact with the opposite sex. Younger sisters are a joy as well. They often worship their older siblings and it can be a nice experience to be admired. Relationships with sisters, like any relationship depend on the people involved.

The Love of My Family

It is common misconception that love is developed with unconditional love and understanding. Well that is one kind of love. But how come there is often so much friction in our family relationships? People are always saying, "oh, my sister and I, we fought like cats and dogs". It is my contention that friction in relationships is an opportunity to realize our differences and accept that although we can never fully understand each other, nonetheless we accept and love each other.

An Addict Friend

When a friend makes a choice to become involved with drugs or alcohol they may not be fully informed of the possible ill effects. The definition of addiction is enslavement. In the beginning it's something you choose to do, eventually it becomes a need. It is difficult to see a friend go down that road to nowhere, and it is difficult to know how and if you can help them. It is always the addict that must take the first step.

Breaking up...How sad

Going through a breakup with a boyfriend or girlfriend is one of the most painful things that a teenager can experience. The anguish is intensified because the experience is fresh and new to them. After sharing your most intimate thoughts with another human being, you are no longer together. He or she is just another person that you pass in the hallway.

My sick Friend

Part of being a good friend is being there for a friend that is sick. You may feel uncomfortable when you visit a sick friend and you may worry about saying the right thing. It is important to remember that this friend is the same person that he always was. If you feel uncomfortable about being with him, share your feelings and ask if there is anything you need to know. More often than not, your friend will want you to just be yourself and you will see that nothing has changed as a result of his illness.

My Lovely Parents

Parents are the unsung heroes of every person that has ever done anything great. Think about the people that you most admire in your life. Do you attribute any of their greatness to the people that raised them? Often, we do not even think about the fact that there were most likely two people who were most influential in making a person who they are. Of course I am referring to his or her parents. If a person is great, remember that greatness is not achieved in a vacuum. There were people who sowed the seeds of greatness.

Guns for Children

I just happened to be reading an article about the tragic shooting death of a pregnant woman by her fiance's 11-year-old son. The story in itself is horrible enough, but I was stunned when I read further into the article and found this:"She didn't actually eye witness the shooting. She saw him with what she believed to be a shotgun and heard a loud bang," Bongivengo said, adding that the weapon, a youth model 20-gauge shotgun, was found in what police believed was the boy's bedroom.

The shotgun, which apparently belonged to Brown, is designed for children and such weapons do not have to be registered, Bongivengo said.

You can call me clueless but I see no reason why kids should even have guns. In my dealings with them I don't believe that most kids are mature enough for gun ownership. What is your opinion on this? I realize that in an earlier time in our history circumstances could arise wherein a child might be called upon to use a gun, but those days are long gone.

Imprisoned By Guilt

I can't seem to find the words
to say just how I feel
The pain is ever growing
since they put you on that hill

I stop by to say I miss you
almost every day
I pray that God above will soon
take this hurt away

I can still see you lying there
among that crumpled heap
I wish that I could close my eyes
and this memory delete

It haunts me every waking hour
and in every wink of sleep
Ever losing grip on sanity
no longer mine to keep

I would give most anything
if I could rewrite history
Cause in my heart I know that you
should be here instead of me

In my cell, my private Hell
locked inside my head
If I hadn't had too much to drink
then you would not be dead

Seven Wonders of the World

1. The Taj Mahal (1630 A.D.) Agra, India
This was built on the orders of Shah Jahan, the fifth Muslim Mugal emperor, to honor the memory of his beloved late wife. It was built out of white marble and standing in formally laid-out walled gardens. Taj Mahal is regarded as the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India.

2. Petra (9 B.C. - 40 A.D.), Jordan
Petra was the glittering capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV (9 B.C. to 40 A.D.) situated on the edge of the Arabian Desert. Masters of water technology, the Nabataeans provided their city with great tunnel constructions and water chambers. A theater, modelled on Greek-Roman prototypes, had space for an audience of 4,000. Today, the Palace Tombs of Petra, with the 42-meter-high Hellenistic temple, are impressive examples of Middle Eastern culture.

3. Machu Picchu (1460-1470), Peru
In the 15th century, the Incan Emperor Pachacutec built a city in the clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu "Old Mountain". This extraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in the Amazon jungle and above the Urubamba River.

4. Christ Redeemer (1931) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
This statue of Jesus stands some 38 meters tall, atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro. It was designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski. It is one of the world’s best-known monuments. The statue took five years to construct and was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. It has become a symbol of the city and of the warmth of the Brazilian people, who receive visitors with open arms.

5. The Great Wall of China (220 B.C and 1368 - 1644 A.D.) China
The Great Wall of China is the largest man-made monument ever to have been built and it is disputed that it is the only one visible from space. It was built to link existing fortifications into a united defense system and better keep invading Mongol tribes out of China. Many thousands of people must have given their lives to build this colossal construction.

6. The Pyramid at Chichen Itza (before 800 A.D.) Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
Chichen Itza, the most famous Mayan temple city, served as the political and economic center of the Mayan civilization. Its various structures - the pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners – can still be seen today and are demonstrative of an extraordinary commitment to architectural space and composition. The pyramid itself was the last, and arguably the greatest, of all Mayan temples.

7. The Roman Colosseum (70 - 82 A.D.) Rome, Italy
This great amphitheater in the centre of Rome was built to give favors to successful legionnaires and to celebrate the glory of the Roman Empire. Its design concept still stands to this very day, and virtually every modern sports stadium some 2,000 years later still bears the irresistible imprint of the Colosseum's original design. Today, through films and history books, we are even more aware of the cruel fights and games that took place in this arena, all for the joy of the spectators.

Friends Forever

Forever is a very long time. How is it that people can talk so casually about a concept that we cannot even wrap our minds around? Sometimes we have a friend and we sense that our souls are very closely connected. We know that the connection is above time and space. We know that wherever we are in our lives we will always remain friends. Even if we do not see each other for years we are able to pick up right where we left off. This is what people mean when they say friends forever.

Do You believe in Angels?

According to the polls over 70 percent of Americans believe in angels and more than 30 percent are said to have seen one. According to the bible they are created by God. (Col 1:16) "For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him".

(Hebrews 13:2) states that "we often entertain angels unaware". The ones who visited Abraham appeared as men. They could talk and walk, washed their feet, rested and ate the food that had been prepared for them. (Genesis 18: 4-5) "He said, If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way - now that you have come to your servant. Very well, they answered, do as you say".

Celebrities Use Fame to Save the Animals

Rock stars are lending their famous faces to support a range of causes and charity groups promoting everything from breast cancer to saving animals and lap band surgery.

Fame has become a valuable marketing commodity for charities and special interest groups. One of the most successful is People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA as it is known. PETA boasts a cavalcade of stars that has elevated its profile to a position usually reserved for leading consumer brands.
Pink, Good Charlotte and Sir Paul McCartney for PETA

PETA’s cache of celebrity supporters includes high profile musicians like Sir Paul McCartney, Pink and Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden.

But sometimes supporters can get into hot water trying to fulfill their obligations. In 2007 Pink came under fire for supporting an anti-Australian wool campaign based on inaccurate information about the practice of mulesing – a procedure undertaken by farmers to prevent maggot infestation in sheep.

An apologetic Pink told the BBC “I was speaking without thinking …I have nothing against farmers. …I don't want to hurt anyone I just want the animals to hurt less."

And The Pretenders lead singer Chrissie Hynde, a long time vegetarian, has been arrested in her bid to save the animals.

At an exclusive club in London Chrissie reportedly became enraged at the use of an elephant’s leg as an umbrella stand. The activist supposedly threatened to throw the offending item from the premises and was given the choice; leave quietly or face the constabulary.

And there was the incident in New York at GAP in 2000 where Chrissie and other PETA supporters slashed leather clothing in protest of the company’s importation of leather goods. This time Chrissie was carted off by the police.

Children Are A Gift From God

Children Are A Gift From God
by Sandra Tolson
God sent me three packages
That needed special care
"Take care of these tiny gifts
For they are very rare."
"Watch over them with all your love
And let them feel your touch
Take care of their every need
For you are needed very much."

"These gifts will grow up very fast
As you soon will see
Love them with all your heart
And let them be what they will be."

"When these gifts have fully grown
Look at Heaven up above
Know they exist because of God
And all his precious love."

Angels & Airwaves: Music for the Healing Process Read more: "Angels & Airwaves: Music for the Healing Process: Reasons to Make them your Heartache's

One great band to heal your soul from anguish, depression, or other negative feelings is Angels & Airwaves.

A lot of the rejuvenating power of Angels & Airwaves owes itself to the lead singer, Tom Delonge, and a personal transformation he was going through as he was putting the band together. Reeling from painkillers for a back injury, and from the exit-stress of leaving his former band—Blink-182—Delonge claims to have been “searching for the new and correct path in life while [he] personally was losing [his] mind."

However, their second album, “I-Empire,” speaks a clearer message than the passionate-but-confused “We Don’t Need to Whisper.” Delonge comments, "It reflects an idea that the world is yours for the taking, and all that exists, exists inside you. It can be something as trivial as a personal struggle, or as grand as the inescapable idea of world peace." With a clearer direction, "I-Empire" is described by Delonge as the second-half of "We Don't Need to Whisper."
The Healing Process

If you have come to Angels & Airwaves for healing, each album has something to offer. Perhaps you’d start with the self-assertion of “We Don’t Need to Whisper.” The very title allows you to not know what you’re supposed to say, as long as you say it loudly. The album is layered with war scenes, promises etched in stone tablets, the remains of demolished cities, cleansed, golden children that are running down from the horizon, and pleas to the listener to either join him, hear him, or reassure him. Lyrics include “I can’t live, I can’t breathe, unless you do this with me,” “The ocean is on fire / The sky turned dark again,” and “You know, I won’t say sorry…You know what it’s like to believe / It makes me wanna scream.”

“We Don’t Need to Whisper” takes the emotionally wrought listener into the labyrinth of their own desires, hopes, and anxieties. It is the celebration of movement without complete control, but enough control to have a destination.

“I-Empire” is less layered, but just as passionate as its former album. It follows a straighter path to contentment and inner peace. While it’s not without lyrics of utter pain—“Tears, spilling out, across a dead end street / Your house, is a lonely box that holds you”—it is also more trusting of life—“If the world were to die, the light would guide you.”

Angels & Airwaves will probably make you feel at home in the pain of heartbreak, the frustration of life, and the belief that there has to be an answer and a reason to live again. With an echoed, airy rock sound comparable to U2, and a sufficient use of chimes, they truly have the angelic, revelatory personality that their name denotes. If they could leave you with one message from their music, it would probably be, “Here we go, life’s waiting to begin.”

Changes

All of us experience change in our lives. Change is the one constant in our lives. There are changes that we look forward too and change that we fear. However, one thing is for sure. Things will not stay the same no matter how much we would like them too. When a life change occurs, we have two choices in how to respond. We can despair that a change has come and assume that things will be worse, or we can look with excitement at the new possibilities that the change presents.
